452 Kilometers of Love: Nicole Antreou’s Double Ironman Challenge for the Joanna Sophia Foundation

452 Kilometers of Love: Nicole Antreou’s Double Ironman Challenge for the Joanna Sophia Foundation

In a monumental display of endurance and compassion, our triathlete Nicole Antreou will take on an extraordinary challenge in Paphos this November: a Double Ironman race of 452 kilometers of sheer determination, dedicated to a higher purpose.

The event, titled Four Hundred and Fifty-Two Kilometers of Love for a Higher Purpose” will take place on November 1–2, 2025, with the ultimate mission of raising vital support for the Joanna Sophia Foundation.

A Higher Purpose: Honoring the Memory of Ioanna

The inspiration behind this initiative is deeply personal. The race is dedicated to the memory of 9-year-old Ioanna, who tragically lost her life in her sleep due to a rare form of epilepsy.

The Joanna Sophia Foundation, founded in her honor, is committed to funding research on rare epilepsies and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), while also providing practical and emotional support to families who face the sudden loss of a loved one or the challenges of chronic health issues.

By standing with Nicole in this effort, whether through participation, volunteering, or donations, supporters become part of this mission of hope, remembrance, and meaningful impact.

The Ultimate Endurance Test: A Double Ironman

Over two days, Nicole will attempt one of the most grueling endurance events ever staged in Cyprus:

  • 7.6 km Swim – testing focus and stamina in open waters.
  • 360 km Bike – a relentless journey across the roads of Paphos.
  • 84.4 km Run – the equivalent of two marathons, powered by resilience and purpose.

Nicole emphasized that “every kilometer carries meaning. Every stroke, every pedal, every step is dedicated to those who believe in me and to the memory of Ioanna. This is more than sport, this is soul.”

She also expressed gratitude to her coach, Dimos Paps, whose guidance has been instrumental in preparing her for this historic challenge.

How You Can Support

Nicole is calling on the public to join her in spirit and action. There are multiple ways to contribute to this extraordinary cause:

At Ventus, we believe in endurance, resilience, and purpose, the very values Nicole embodies. That is why Ventus is proud to support Nicole Antreou in her 452 km Double Ironman journey.

Our commitment goes beyond performance apparel, we stand beside athletes who use sport as a platform for positive change. Nicole’s challenge is not only a test of human limits but also a testament to the power of community when united for a cause greater than ourselves.

A Community United

The event has already attracted the backing of companies including A&A Diamorfotiki Ltd, Anthelko Ltd, and Artisan Aesthetics by Zoe, and with Ventus joining the effort, the network of support continues to grow stronger.

Nicole’s challenge is not about finishing first, it’s about finishing with purpose. Every kilometer is a tribute to courage, compassion, and the memory of Ioanna.

On November 1–2, 2025, let’s come together as one community to honor a life, raise awareness, and help create a brighter future for families affected by rare epilepsy.

Every mile counts.
