Ventus Challenge - Power Hill Terms & Conditions
VENTUS POWER HILL CHALLENGE: RULES & TERMS
1. Challenge Format
The challenge takes place during the Ventus Pre-Christmas Social Ride on Saturday 13 December 2025. The winner is determined by the fastest official Strava time recorded on the segment Ventus Challenge – Power Hill on that day only, hence rider's activity must be set to public.
2. Eligibility
• Riders must be officially registered for the event.
• Riders must complete the full group ride.
• Only road bikes are allowed.
• Strava activity Privacy Controls on that day must be set to Everyone.
3. How the Segment Works
• Ride leaders will announce the start of the segment during the ride.
• From that point, riders may pace themselves freely until the end of the segment.
• Drafting is allowed.
• Once you cross the finish, slow down or stop to regroup with the main bunch.
4. Strava Requirements
• Riders must record their ride with a GPS-enabled device (Garmin, Wahoo, etc.).
• The ride must be synced to Strava within 2 hours of the finish.
• The segment must appear normally on Strava (no GPS dropouts, no anomalies).
• Only public activities count. Private uploads are not eligible.
5. Determining the Winner(s)
Winners are selected based solely on Strava segment leaderboard times recorded on 13/12/2025.
Awards categories:
• Fastest Overall Time
Ventus reserves the right to add extra categories depending on turnout.
6. Fair Play
• No cutting corners or unsafe riding.
• No stopping mid-segment and restarting recordings.
• If a rider’s GPS trace shows unrealistic data or corrupted files, the time will not be counted.
Ride hard, ride safe, not weird.
7. Safety Obligations
• Helmets are mandatory.
• Riders must obey traffic laws at all times.
• The segment is done on open roads; personal awareness is required.
• Dangerous behaviour results in disqualification from the challenge.
8. Awards
Winners will receive Ventus prizes announced after the ride.
Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged.
9. Liability Notice
By participating, riders acknowledge that cycling on public roads involves inherent risks. Each participant is responsible for their own safety. Ventus, its team, and its partners are not liable for accidents, injuries, equipment damage, or GPS issues.
10. Amendments
Ventus reserves the right to modify or cancel the challenge in case of weather issues, road conditions, or safety concerns.
