Ventus Celebrates Five Years of Cycling, Performance and Community

Five years after launching its first cycling collection in Cyprus, Ventus celebrates an important milestone that represents much more than the passing of time, because what started in 2021 as an ambition to create high-quality cycling apparel has gradually developed into a wider cycling brand built around performance, racing, community, international experiences and a genuine passion for the sport.

During these first five years, Ventus has evolved alongside the riders who wear its products, moving from its first collections into international cycling events, national championship victories, collaborations with elite athletes, custom apparel for cycling teams and experiences that have taken the Ventus name well beyond the roads of Cyprus.

The Beginning of Ventus in 2021

Ventus Performance Wear was established in Cyprus in February 2021, with the first summer cycling collection officially launching on 22 July of the same year and introducing the brand's original philosophy of combining performance, comfort and clean design for cyclists who demand more from the clothing they wear.

The name Ventus, meaning “wind” in Latin, was selected to reflect one of the most familiar elements of cycling, while the identity of the brand was built around progress, persistence and the belief that victory can mean something different to every rider, whether it is winning a race, completing a difficult climb or simply becoming stronger than before.

The first winter collection followed later in 2021, beginning the development of Ventus from a seasonal collection into a year-round cycling apparel brand that would continue to improve its products through rider feedback, technical development and real-world testing.

Building a Cycling Community Beyond the Product

As Ventus developed, the focus gradually expanded beyond cycling jerseys and bib shorts, because the people wearing the products, the places they were riding and the experiences they were creating became an equally important part of the identity of the brand.

In 2023, Ventus launched the Rider's Diary, a dedicated platform created to tell authentic cycling stories from riders connected with the brand, beginning with a cycling journey around Lake Como and later documenting races, endurance challenges, cycling destinations and personal achievements across Cyprus and abroad.

Through the Rider's Diary, Ventus riders competed in events such as L'Étape Romania, took on the demanding Salzkammergut Trophy Extreme in Austria and travelled across Europe for experiences that reflected the adventurous and performance-driven character that the brand wanted to represent.

This period marked an important transition, because Ventus was no longer communicating only what cyclists could wear, but also what cycling could allow them to experience.

Growing Through Athletes and Real Performance

The next stage of the Ventus journey focused increasingly on performance and collaborations with riders who could represent the brand through genuine sporting achievement.

In 2024, Ventus partnered with Cypriot Road Champion Alexandros Matsangos, a cyclist with extensive racing experience in Cyprus and internationally, strengthening the connection between the brand and competitive cycling at the highest national level.

During the same year, Ventus rider Anna Bicskei returned to the Salzkammergut Trophy Extreme in Austria, completing 209 kilometres with more than 7,000 metres of climbing and finishing second in the General Category, before later completing a solo and unsupported lap of Cyprus covering more than 666 kilometres.

These achievements reflected an important principle that continues to shape Ventus today: the products and the brand should be connected with real riders, real conditions and real challenges rather than existing only within controlled marketing campaigns.

International Recognition for Ventus Cycling Apparel

Another important milestone arrived in 2024 when Portuguese cycling publication MountainBikes.pt independently tested Ventus cycling apparel and highlighted the quality, comfort, fit and overall value of the products.

For a young cycling brand originating from Cyprus, independent recognition from an international cycling publication represented an important step forward, because Ventus products were beginning to reach riders and cycling audiences outside the local market.

This international exposure also reinforced the long-term objective of developing Ventus into a cycling brand capable of competing through product quality, design and performance rather than simply relying on its country of origin.

Ventus at the Cyprus Gran Fondo 2025

The year 2025 represented one of the most important periods in the development of Ventus, with the brand increasing its involvement in competitive cycling, international events and the wider cycling community.

One of the major milestones came through the Cyprus Gran Fondo 2025, part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, where Ventus became an official sponsor and supplied the yellow jerseys for stage winners, the blue jerseys for the leading teams and the official promotional jersey of the event.

For a brand that had launched its first collection only four years earlier, seeing Ventus jerseys awarded to riders at an international UCI Gran Fondo event demonstrated how quickly the brand had progressed from producing its first cycling clothing to becoming part of the visual identity of important cycling competitions.

Ventus also continued supporting local cycling races and initiatives throughout the year, strengthening its relationship with riders, organisers and clubs while becoming increasingly visible within the Cyprus cycling scene.

Creating Jerseys That Represent Victory

Ventus' involvement with cycling events continued through its collaboration with INEX Club for the Mayflower Gran Prix Limassol, where the brand designed and produced a distinctive podium jersey incorporating elements inspired by Cyprus.

The partnership continued into 2026 with exclusive leader jerseys for the Paphos Gran Prix, further establishing Ventus as a brand capable of creating technical cycling apparel that also carries the identity and prestige of competitive events.

These projects represented another important step in the development of the brand, because Ventus was no longer simply present at races through sponsorship, but was actively contributing to how success, leadership and victory were represented on the podium.

Expanding the Ventus Performance Ecosystem

During 2025, Ventus also began expanding its philosophy beyond apparel by forming partnerships with brands connected with hydration, nutrition, preparation and recovery.

The collaboration with Precision Fuel & Hydration reflected this wider approach, recognising that cycling performance depends on much more than clothing and that riders increasingly need access to reliable products and knowledge that can support them throughout training and competition.

This development allowed Ventus to move closer to becoming a wider performance platform for cyclists, connecting apparel with the other elements that contribute to better preparation, stronger performance and improved riding experiences.

From Cycling to Endurance and Extreme Challenges

The Ventus community also became increasingly diverse during this period, with riders representing the brand in road cycling, mountain biking, ultra-distance events and extreme triathlon.

Stories documented through the Rider's Diary included long-distance cycling challenges, the Spartakiada, OlympusMan and PATAGONMAN, demonstrating that the Ventus identity had gradually expanded beyond one discipline or one type of cyclist.

These achievements strengthened the connection between the brand and endurance, while showing that Ventus could represent riders whose objectives ranged from competitive racing to some of the most demanding personal challenges in sport.

National Championship Success in Portugal

One of the most significant sporting milestones in the first five years of Ventus arrived in January 2026, when Portuguese cyclist Daniela Campos won four national titles at the Portuguese National Track Championships while competing in Ventus PRO Bib Shorts Ultralite.

Campos secured national titles in the Omnium, Elimination, Scratch and Points Race, giving Ventus an important level of competitive validation because its apparel was being tested and raced under the demanding conditions of elite national championship competition.

Her performances continued on the road, where she achieved consecutive victories in the Portuguese Women's Road Cup, further connecting Ventus with elite racing and demonstrating how far the brand had travelled from the launch of its first collection in Cyprus five years earlier.

For Ventus, these victories represented more than sponsorship exposure, because they demonstrated that its performance products were being selected and successfully used by high-level athletes in real competition.

Becoming a Custom Cycling Apparel Partner

Custom cycling apparel has also become an increasingly important part of the Ventus business, with cycling teams trusting the brand to design and produce clothing that represents their colours, sponsors and identity.

Ventus has worked with teams including Famagusta Cycling Team, Elite Cycling Team and Bikin Cyprus Cycling Team, alongside other clubs and cycling groups, combining technical apparel development with customised visual design.

The success of these collaborations became particularly visible in 2026 when riders from Famagusta Cycling Team achieved several podium positions while competing in Ventus-developed team apparel.

For Ventus, custom apparel represents an important responsibility, because creating a jersey for another team means producing something that athletes will wear while representing their own organisation, partners and values.

Creating Cycling Experiences Beyond Apparel

The development of Ventus during its first five years has increasingly extended beyond what riders wear, with the brand becoming involved in social rides, cycling clubs, racing, training and international cycling experiences.

In June 2026, the Ventus Mont Ventoux Training Camp brought riders from Cyprus to France for a complete cycling experience centred around structured riding, iconic climbs, coaching, shared experiences and one of the most legendary mountains in professional cycling.

The camp represented another important step in the evolution of Ventus, because the brand was no longer only creating products for memorable cycling experiences, but was beginning to create those experiences itself.

This direction reflects the long-term vision for Ventus as a cycling brand that connects products, performance and community while giving riders opportunities to experience the sport in new ways.

Five Years Strong

Looking back at the period between 2021 and 2026, the development of Ventus can be measured through collections, races, championships, sponsorships and international collaborations, but the most important achievement remains the community that has grown around the brand.

Every rider who chose Ventus when the brand was still unknown, every athlete who raced in its apparel, every cycling team that trusted Ventus with its identity, every event organiser who welcomed the brand and every customer who returned for another product has contributed to the journey.

The Five Years Strong anniversary represents exactly that progression, celebrating the distance already travelled while recognising that the ambitions of Ventus continue to extend much further.

From the first cycling collection launched in Cyprus in July 2021 to national championship victories, international events, custom team apparel and cycling experiences across Europe, Ventus has developed from a new local cycling brand into a growing performance and community platform with an increasingly international direction.

Five years have created the foundation.

The next chapter has already started.

Five Years Strong. Ventus.
